Rumor Has It

This Mac rumor could be a part of the future of mobile applications.

In a nutshell—when you enter the data-space of a restaurant, museum, library, etc., a prominent place on your phone is taken up, temporarily, by their application(s).

Examples: see the wait time for a table at a restaurant, view the menu or order your meal; search the database of your library (or retail store) on your own device rather than theirs; use an exhibition-specific app (like hand-held labels, games, etc.) while in a museum or gallery.

When you leave, you leave behind the app. Of course, it would make sense to give you an option of retaining it if you choose.
